Terminology

Facts, Thoughts and Opinions

Limit service in Congress to one term per person.

Limit all citizens to one term in either the House of Representatives or the Senate. This will result in the constant churn of the membership of Congress, bringing in fresh ideas and people who are elected to solve current problems. It will destroy the power structure currently existing via seniority. It will prevent Congress from being a career option. You serve your term in Congress, and then you go home. If you want to be a career politician, do it at home.

On term limits and "institutional experience"

"[Term limits do] not allow Congressmen to develop expertise and experience." Because the decades of experience that our career politicians have leads them to write such great legislative masterpieces. Actually, I think the one-term limit will result in better legislation, or at the very least simple legislation that our citizen legislature would read before passing.
